Year 3 - 19.1.24

Date: 19th Jan 2024 @ 5:04pm

Wow, what a cold week we have had! We certainly enjoyed it in school though, making the most of the frost by going out on Thursday and taking some frosty pictures. Some of the children remembered their knowledge and skills that Mrs Cox taught them in Year 2 by applying filters.

On Monday we learnt about the meaning to be respectful to each other as this is one of our British Values. The children were fantastic at coming up with ways that they show respect to each other and what it means to be respectful. Each half term we will look at a British Value and talk about the importance of them.

In PE this week we tackled the rope and ladder climb, the blue climbing frame and the snake ladders. The children worked on entering the snake ladders at different levels and travelling through the apparatus to make it more challenging for themselves. It was fantastic to see their confidence grow as they continued to use the equipment.

In English we created poems on blue whales, there was some wonderful similes being used. We also discovered some more facts about blue whales, why don't you see at home what the children can remember? On Friday we looked at how whales migrate from the Poles in the summer to the equator in the Winter. There was some great teamwork on display by all the groups.
