Year 2 Weekly Blog- Friday 25th November
Date: 25th Nov 2022 @ 12:21pm
In RE, we have continued to look at Judaism. We have focused on the 10 Commandments given to the people by God and we talked about why these rules would be important for Jewish people to follow. We then made our own list of 10 rules for that we believe everyone to follow to lead a happy life.
In Maths, we have used our tens frame this week to help us subtract numbers bridging ten. We have also looked at subtracting one digit numbers from a tens number using our knowledge of number bonds to 10.
In Literacy, we discussed all the jobs that we think Jack's mum would need to do each day to get her fast food van ready to serve customers. Using these ideas, we then wrote a list using commas to write about all the jobs Jack's mum would need to do every morning, afternoon and evening.
In Science, we conducted an experiment to discover whether or not a material was waterproof or absorbent. We used pipettes to drop blobs of water onto the materials and watched to see if they soaked in or not. We even tried to use our pipette to write our own name.
In Art, we sketched our final drawing using our shading and drawing techniques that we have been learning about this half term. We had to draw 2 different plants to demonstrate what we had learned. Please take a look at our Twitter feed to view pictures from our lesson.
As always, we enjoyed another session of buddy reading with our Year 4 buddies. We always enjoy spending time with Year 4 sharing a story with them.
We have had another very busy week of rehearsing for our Christmas play and beginning to get our costumes together for the big day in a few weeks' time. We are very excited for you to listen to us retelling the story of baby Jesus' birth and to sing our amazing songs for you!
