The Christmas production is getting closer and closer! You should all now have received information regarding costumes and we are busy getting all of our props and accessories ready. The children are remembering their cues and we are really starting to see the show come together! We can't wait to welcome you into our school to show you all of our hard work.
We have enjoyed writing a birthday invitation to Baby Bear as Goldilocks, using 'and' to join words and phrases. In maths, we enjoyed working systematically to find all the bonds within 10. We used double sided counters, flipping them over and recording what we could see as a number sentence. The children worked so hard during this lesson!
In history, we looked at a timeline for the first time and the importance of chronology. We spoke about how timelines can represent any amount of time, from my morning routine, plotting the teacher's birthdays or from the days when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The children then used their inference skills to order Elizabeth I, Victoria, Elizabeth II and Charles III onto a timeline. We noticed that Elizabeth I's portrait was a painting, Victoria was in black and white whilst the others were in colour - this helped us to order them!
Homework: Please see in the homework books - to research and record three facts about Queen Victoria.
Spellings - I have been so impressed with spellings recently - we are really seeing an improvement within our writing books so thank you for supporting your children at home. This week, some recap spellings that we have practised before:
-you
-your
-was
-come
-have
