Year 4 Friday 26th April

Date: 26th Apr 2024 @ 4:45pm

The children had lots of things they wanted to share on the blog today. It shows just what a busy week they've had!

In PE on Monday, they enjoyed a tennis taster session and today we have begun our athletics unit. We looked at how to do a sprint start, the posture needed for good sprinting and had a short relay of sprints in a team.

Yesterday we welcomed Helen from HSBC who led a workshop about the finances involved in travelling. They learnt about different currencies, we looked at words and phrases in different languages and thought about how we budget for a holiday abroad.

In science, we made circuits again and this time, tested materials to see whether they were conductors or insulators.

In literacy, we have started to plan our assessment piece, an information board about rainforests. We've used written texts and a film clip to learn about rainforests and made notes.

Finally today, we have been having fun editing digital images, particularly looking at the flip and rotate functions, using the software Paint 3D.

Well done to 2 of our class who have also been amongst the first group to take part in a chess tournament, competing against different schools.

They're all ready for a rest now!

Have a good weekend.
