Year 2 Weekly Blog- Friday 18th November

Date: 18th Nov 2022 @ 2:10pm

This week, we have made beautiful golden crowns for our tree to be decorated in Chester Cathedral. We have made them from wire, wool and have decorated our crowns with jewels. Please take a look at out Twitter feed to see the final product.

On Thursday, Year 2 had a very exciting visitor. Miss Poland's auntie, uncle and cousin from New Zealand came to visit our classroom. We asked them lots of questions about what life is like in New Zealand and learn all about the difference between their county and ours.

We have been very busy rehearsing for our Christmas play, using every spare minute we have to practice singing our songs and reading our lines. We are all sounding amazing and we are excited to show it off to our parents.

In Geography, we have identified physical and human features of our planet. We identified that houses, shops and villages are human features and that forests, mountains and weather are physical features.

We have learnt how to calculate addition questions using a number line, especially when they go over the next 10s number.

In Literacy, we predicted what sounds we could hear at Jack's Fast Food van and wrote our own descriptive sentences.

We had a very busy week but are very much looking forward to doing that same next week!
