We've had an exciting week in Year 2. In Literacy, we have been busy continuing to read 'A Little Bit Brave' and we took on the role of our main character, Logan, to write a letter of apology to Luna after they had an argument about Logan not wanting to go outside. We focused on using our capital letters and full stops as well as using questions marks and exclamation marks.

In Maths, we have continued to look at place value and focused on part whole models to split two-digit numbers and we've looked at writing numbers to 100 in words. The children really have wowed me with their Maths knowledge this week!

We have enjoyed learning about how to hold a hockey stick and how to pass a ball to our partners in our PE lessons, we have looked at the 4 main compass points and practically used a compass to discover the different directions in our school playground during our Geography lesson and even went out on a local walk to discover different materials in our local area for our Science lesson.

I would like to say a big well done to all the children who put themselves forward as candidates for School and Sports council. They were all amazing and should be very proud of themselves. Well done!

We are very excited for our trip to Thurstaston Beach on Monday, let's hope for some good weather!
